The last 2 weekends in GZ

So its been a long long while since I have written! And much to update! I'm writing this as I a waiting for MS Office 2010 to install on my comp to powerpivot my way through my data analysis! Anyway, last weekend, I moved in my new place, same distance from work, but now with 2 bedrooms, lounge, dining area, kitchen and balcony! hrmm I wonder if I can get a BBQ up there.. It is Summer after all... Hrrrmmm... Check out the pics! Am loving the space, not to mention there's a place to crash for the next influx of visitors! Hint, hint ;)

Last weekend also, I had a house warming gift of having Jo, Tyna and Tonia staying over! that was awesome, and made me realise how much I really miss my girlfriends :( :( just a weekend of talking, eating and drinking - what else can a girl ask for??
Not to mention an EPIC Saturday night at Heihei... Haha... The Mongrel Mob was in town that night hahaha.. See Tonia's photos!

Monday had to come around though, as it always does, when 2 left for HK the night before after a round of beef cheese balls! After a Sunday night at the infamous 88, supper of porridge and garlic eggplant, the next day was a goodbye to Tonia!!

And then there was one :p a 88 farewell, and the hope to see BB.... And 2 massive pizzas at a 24hr joint to say goodbye to GG Joe... Sighs...
:( it was awesome to have friends around, just like the old times...

With no more visitors until the end of Aug... I'm heading for a detox!! Yup yup, havent had any since Tuesday night, cooked for the first time in my new kitchen!!! A gas stove rocks! It continues to amazes me still how much cooking makes me incredibly happy :)

oh oh... I also set a mission for myself to catch a bus in GZ! And I did!!!!! It was seriously easy and quite a pleasant experience! LOL I'll be doing that more from now on!! For 2RMB a ride, why not!!

Anyways... Thats the last 2 weeks, oh and for those who wonder... Though few I'd imagine, work is busy, I've conquered SSIS - data tool that will assist with my analysis... hahahah yup geek, and July for MMC is going to be MASSIVE!!

Ok, that was the last 2 weeks, next 2 weeks is just as intense, with the CEO and BI Manager from NZ coming over to China for a week... Will be taking them out, for sure haha, but there's heaps of work to be done!! And oh! Not to mention Usher in Macau on Tuesday!! Woot, woot!! Jo is very excited... i'm a bit scared to be honest haha
Till next time x

If there was 1 thing you could change about me, what would that be?

I asked a good friend that question today, after reading some of my recent diary entries... my rather sporadic diary entries might I add... It has been an interesting journey for me thus far this year, and I'm looking forward for whats ahead for the next 6 months. I've done a lot of things I wouldn't have ever thought I would have in the last 10 years, and it is incredibly liberating :) Change is hard, but once you do it, it is incredibly rewarding... But anyway, to the topic at hand, if there was 1 thing you could change about me, what would that be? And the answer from this particular friend, was the following (why I asked this friend, I don't know, they just happened to be there when the question crossed my mind, or maybe its just how it works out?) Nevertheless, it might have been what I needed at the time :)

**: one thing that I would change ..

**: I guess ..

**: let yourself live .. mistakes are what make us who we are ..

**: you dont need to be there for everyone .. in other words .. you don't have try and resolve everything ..

**: some things cannot be changed ..

**: and stop trying to be so hard .

If you count it, its actually 2! But honestly, that was good and timely feedback. Same things I have heard for many many years from none other than HPP ;) but ya know, its all about timing...

Thanks for the honest feedback, it is sincerely appreciate it. I've been getting a lot lately, which is definitely an indication I'm different... but also, I am also more honest myself nowadays :)

UK/Europe Trip - PARIS!

My update of my trip will be a little haphazard, as I have photos stored on Ann Nee’s computer which will be coming mid June.. so it will be all out of sequence.. hehe…

So, the first instalment is Paris…

Paris was amazing, not only did I come back with a few extra kilos from the croissants, pain au chocolats, baguettes, wine, crepes, cheese, and beer… but also with the awe of how beautiful the sights and view were – though don’t look down, because there’s always dog poo everywhere, and the subway REEKS of urine. We were blessed with AMAZING weather, which you will see through the photos, so, so lucky.

My favourite was the Arc de Triomphe, the roundabout which I have heard so many stories about, did not seem so scary, I think the driving environment in GZ has numbed me. The location of the Arc is awesome, a 360 degree view of Paris. The city was definitely smaller than we had imagined, I think travelling in the subway does that to you, but we walked as much as we could but even then, it did not balance what we were eating hahaha…

Oh, yeah, so I went with Wilson, Ann Nee, Dusty, Kelley and Steve aka Biebis. Biebis being a cross between the child star Justin Bieber and Beavis from Beavis & Butthead.. Steve laughs like them haha.. and thought of himself as Bieber cuz he thinks he’s cool :p I have an intense dislike for Justin Bieber, and Kelley being Kelley, played his Baby song on the hour every hour – so lucky aren’t I? So the song was forever in our heads the whole trip. Also, he was a CHRONIC photo bomber… not to mention POSER, which you will also see in the photos.

The view from the Eiffel Tower was awesome, Wilson and I awarded ourselves at the top of each floor with a beer… LOL – we didn’t go up to the top though as it was packed, and we couldn’t be bothered waiting. We went at a great time! The line to climb the stairs was non-existent, while the line for the lift was LONG as. And while the sun was setting, the crowds had diminished, so we were able to take the lift back down – going down makes me feel woozy, as if I may lose my step – so I was glad J

We didn’t go to the Louvre, no time really, but did go to Notre Dame, and Pantheon which was nice. Haha.. not sure if you can tell, but I tire easily from sights… much more about the people, food and drink :p I have several photos of food, us mucking about.. all in all it was an awesome trip, good times. Ooh, we also met Hugh, a Performing Arts student – he was a cool dude. Hugh we also saw again in London on my last night.

So about the foooood… not much to say, except it was delicious. So good to have some simple food after the rich, complex flavours here in GZ. Like I said, it made me fat (-ter than when I left China). Coffee… aahh… LOL.. pictures say a 1000 words, I’ll let the pictures tell the story.
